CHICKEN MACARONI CAKE / MACARONI POLA
Filling and satisfying pasta dishes are something we love to have for a weekend dinner meal. Do you ever try a spicy chicken macaroni cake / Pasta cake instead of sweet cakes? INGREDIENTS
Macroni - 2 cups, cooked
Chicken - 250 gOnion - 2 (small), finely sliced
Green chili - 2, finely chopped
Crushed ginger and garlic - 1 tbsp
Carrot - 1, (chopped finely)
Capsicum / bell pepper - half (finely chopped)
Pepper powder - half tsp
Turmeric powder - half tsp
Egg - 4 nos (i took 3 large eggs)
Milk - half a cup
Milk powder - 2 tbsp (or can use cornflour instead)
Ghee / butter - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves chopped finely
Salt
Oil
PREPARATION
- Cook the macaroni with required salt and oil (1tsp).Cook it as per package instructions and drain the water using a colander. Keep it aside.
- Meanwhile cook the chicken with 1 tsp pepper powder, a pinch turmeric powder, and salt. Do not add much water. When done, shred the chicken leaving the bones. Keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the sliced onion, green chili, crushed ginger garlic, and enough salt.
- Saute till the raw smell disappears.
- Now add chopped carrot, capsicum, pepper powder, turmeric powder and saute for few minutes.
- Finally, add the shredded chicken to it and keep it aside.
- Now take a large bowl and add eggs. Whisk it well.
- Now add the milk (combine with milk powder or corn flour) and salt. Combine well.
- Now add the prepared macaroni and chicken masala to it. Mix well.
- Heat a round bottomed non-stick vessel and grease it with ghee or butter.
- Once hot, make the flame to medium-low.
- Pour this macaroni chicken mixture to it and cook covered for 15 minutes in a low flame.
- You can garnish with some coriander leaves on the top.
- After 15 minutes, slowly flip the other side and cook for other 5 minutes over a low flame.(this can be done by slowly inverting it to another greased fry pan)
- Cut into desired shapes once cooled.
- Delicious.
