INGREDIENTS
Chicken wings with skin - 5 pieces
Egg - 1, whisked
Cornflour - half a cup or more
Parmesan cheese - quarter cup, grated
Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
Sweet chili sauce - 2 tsp
Oregano - quarter tsp
Oil
To marinate
Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
Chili powder - 1 tsp (i used kashmir chili powder)
Salt - to taste (only if required )
PREPARATION
- Wash the chicken wings(with skin) using vinegar if required and set aside to drain. Poke holes over chicken wings using a knife or make slits here and there before marination.
- Season the chicken wings with soy sauce and chili powder. Add salt only if required as soy sauce itself contains salt. Refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
- Beat the egg well with a pinch of salt and set aside. Also set aside cornflour ready in a bowl.
- Now heat a wok with oil for deep frying. Take out the marinated chicken wings, dip in egg batter one at a time in, coat with cornflour and immediately drop it into the hot oil. Fry until crispy and set aside in a paper towel.
- In a pan add 1 tbsp of oil / melted butter. Saute minced garlic for a while and then sweet chili sauce (or add 1 tsp tomato sauce + 1 tsp chili sauce). Combine well, add the fried chicken, toss well to coat.
- Finally add the parmesan cheese and mix well until the cheese melts completely. Sprinkle some oregano and place on a serving dish. Garnish with some grated parmesan cheese.
